can also go hiking, playing golf, and whitewater paddling, so it's completely out of the question to get bored.
This is such a pretty campground. You get a splendid vista of Cagle Mountain from Red Gates; Highland Lake Golf Club is a golf course nearby. The amount of precipitation
| that falls at Red Gates is close to the national average; most of the rain falls during March, and January meanwhile is the driest month. Throughout the summertime at Red Gates temperatures are generally in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Red Gates overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's.

things are pretty incredible. Get dripping wet paddling on Big Hungry Creek, and there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Green River.
Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is great! If you like skiing, you're in luck; Wolf Laurel is in the
neighborhood of Red Gates, and Jones Gap State Park is a wonderful spot to stretch your legs a bit. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. When you're here at Red Gates it's always fun to explore Pisgah
National Forest, and an afternoon playing golf at Kenmure Country Club is always a diversion.
Ok, you've been cooped up for too much time, you have to get out of the house, and Red Gates in North Carolina is just the location.
You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Red Gates is right by the Side Hill Trail; stopping by Blue Ridge Parkway is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.
