  The kind reception and all the cool stuff are cause enough to come here. Man, is there a lot of entertaining things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. A fine spot like Pisgah National Forest close to Lonesome Pine Campground is too nice to leave out, and if you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cataloochee Creek. This spot is great, just check out all the amusing stuff to do close to Lonesome Pine Campground. Take a little spree to Gaddis Branch while you're here at Lonesome Pine Campground, and Lonesome Pine
    Campground is not the only place nearby, Lake Palcoy is a nearby lake. Lonesome Pine Campground is positioned in the Great Smoky Mountains.

frequently with a large amount of rain; July is when you get the most rain here while October is ordinarily the driest month. Pigeon River is a magnificent whitewater spot in close proximity to Lonesome Pine Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lonesome Pine Campground; Asbury Trail is a good local trail.
This sector of North Carolina is always a joy to check out through camping season. For the period of the summertime months here at Lonesome Pine Campground, high temperatures frequently reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. You clearly must adore the Great Smoky Mountains. From Lonesome Pine Campground you get a glorious vista of Trit Knob; Lonesome Pine Campground is right by the Big Branch Trail. There is so much enjoyable stuff to do near Lonesome Pine Campground, and it is a fun place for young and old.
Whitewater paddling is good on Pigeon River - West Fork, and there's magnificent hiking along the Caldwell Fork Trail.
