Lake James Landing, Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina
|
| | We are looking forward to our first full year at Lake James Landing. We're hoping to find cooler summer temps than our central Florida normal. The Landings are beautifully maintained & other RV'ers are friendly helpful folks. Can't wait to get up there. Says Ron & Maryann Erickson
We have a camper at Lake James Landing, and we enjoy it very much! Friendly folks, family oriented, and quiet. There are 4 ramps for launching boats, and the campground is currently expanding under new ownership. There are docks for launching, and plenty of room to beach your boat |
overnight. We've never had an issue with theft or vandalism while leaving our boat beached while we are camping. I highly recommend this campground for campers with children. Says Snal~
Lake James State Park is a delightful site to pop by on a beautiful day, and you'll
| never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Sugar Mountain while you're here. Much rainfall falls at Lake James Landing; all through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and December is the month with the least moisture. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Bald Mountain Trail, and you without doubt should go to Mount Mitchell State Park since you're here. Now, you may believe that's lots but there's even more entertaining things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. At Lake James Landing during the summer highs are in the | |

80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Lake James Landing fall into the 10's. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more fun stuff to do here
at Lake James Landing. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Catawba River, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try North Fork Catawba River. This campground has so much exciting stuff to offer. If you come at the right time of
year, Catawba River - North Fork offers some wonderful whitewater; there are plenty of folks from Marion here. And if that's not enough there's a load more enjoyable things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Linville River, and a lake nearby is Morgan Lake.
