For the period of the summertime months highs here at Hitching Post Campground get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Hitching Post Campground. Hitching Post Campground is liked by people of Lake Lure. The pleasant folks working here and the delightful quality of everything here are in themselves incentive enough to come here. Now, you may think that's a load but there's even more amusing stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but
if it's for you then we recommend Broad River; since you're here you can play some golf at Bald Mountain Golf Course. A spree to Lake James State Park when you're here at Hitching Post Campground is never a bad idea, and Occoneechee Lake Dam is a gorgeous place, positively
worth a visit. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always stunning. Getting to Cane Creek from Hitching Post Campground is trouble-free; in the neighborhood of Hitching Post Campground you come across a golf course called Lake Lure Golf Course. All the outdoors entertaining
stuff in the neighborhood of Hitching Post Campground will keep you coming back time and again. There's whitewater on Green River for all you thrill seekers; a journey to Blue Ridge Parkway is recommended. All the water falling down from the sky makes Hitching Post Campground a
wet site; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; December is when it's the driest. There's absolutely no way to run out of amusing stuff to do close to Hitching Post Campground; if you're seeking a fine site to go for a weekend of camping, this is a delightful selection. A great site to have a look at right next door to Hitching Post Campground is Hickorynut Gap.

AMENITIES
Tent camping is available - 30 sites. All tent sites have water, electricity, a picnic table and a fire ring. RV hookups are available - Full service: water, electric, sewage, picnic table and fire ring. 3 - 50 amp sites, 22 - 30 amp sites open year round. Pets are allowed - Must be on a leash at all times. Can not be left in the campground unattended. The owners of aggressive or nuisance animals will be asked to leave. Campfires are allowed - We have metal fire rings on every site. We also sell firewood. Has Store - We have a small camp store on site. Grocery store nearby - The Ingles grocery store is less than 1 mile away. No pool - We do have a fishing pond. Game Room
