Says Jennifer Schmeltzle Get yourself into a kayak and hit Yadkin River, and during your journey here you'll meet some people from Lexington-Thomasville for sure. Uwharrie National Forest is a good site to take a look at on a gorgeous day. This is a good campground. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on South Yadkin River, and dropping by Morrow Mountain State Park is a splendid thing to do. If you come at the right time of year, Uwharrie River offers some wonderful whitewater, and Clodfelter Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. High Rock Lake Marina and Campground sees pretty high levels of rain; the month   with most of the rain is May, and the driest of the months is November. All through the months of summer at High Rock Lake Marina and Campground temperatures are usually in the 90's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's.
