This is really a pleasant campground. Hiking along the Mount Rogers Spur is magnificent fun, and in case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Wilson Creek. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always gorgeous. Elk Creek has
a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can spot Frenches Knob from Greenfield Campground.
But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Don't leave Greenfield Campground without first going for a hike along the Sugar Maple Trail, and New River State Park is a good spot to pop by on a gorgeous day. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, and Greenfield Campground in North Carolina is the outdoors at its greatest. With such a large number of things to do in North Carolina you'll never get bored.

Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's while Greenfield Campground overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. All the water falling down from the sky makes Greenfield Campground a wet spot; the wettest month of the year is frequently July, that's the one that rains the most while November is usually the driest month.
