Ft wilderness Campground, Great Smoky Mountains, North Carolina Custom Search   Our Campground has 9 small cabins that have a toilet,sink,small frig,coffee pot,microwave, queen size bed and a set of bunks,. Linens are provided. We have 3 deluxe cabins that offer queen size bed and two twins in the loft. They have full kitchen, full bath. All linens and dishes are provided. We have non electric and water tent sites. We have electric and water tent sites. We have 30 and 50 amp services. Pull-thru or back in. We have a game room and brand new swimming pool. We are now serving Blue Bell ice     cream We have a new play ground with monkey bars and tube slide, horse shoes and volley ball. We have singings on the weekends with pot luck dinners. Church services on Sunday mornings. Going for a hike on the Tsali Horse Trail is always a great adventure, and Ft wilderness Campground is not far at all from Cherokee. Nantahala National Forest is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit; great hiking is available along the Caldwell Fork Trail. This campground has so many entertaining things to offer. The view of Thomas Peak from Ft wilderness Campground is wonderful, and whitewater paddling is splendid on Oconaluftee River. Just can't get enough of the Great Smoky Mountains. Homer Burgess Dam is worth a visit while you're here; a tour to Great Smoky Mountains National Park is recommended. Ft wilderness   Campground generally gets a good deal of rain; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain, and October on the other hand is the driest. And if that's not enough there's a load more fun things to do in the Great Smoky Mountains. Ft wilderness Campground is not the only spot close by, Homer Burgess Lake is a close by lake, and obviously Beck Branch is a beautiful stream that is worth checking out. And if that's not enough, there's a heap more to do in close proximity to Ft wilderness Campground. You can never get enough of the fine skiing at Cataloochee, and the Messer Trail offers hiking at its best. If you're here, you might as well stop by Lewis Cove, and get drenched paddling on Tuckasegee River. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool stuff just keep reading. Go for a hike on the Palmer Creek Trail. This campground is so great. Places like Black Rock Mountain State Park are nice to stop by; hiking is a popular thing to do around Ft wilderness Campground; Wesser Creek Trail is a wonderful local trail. For the duration of the days of summer here at Ft wilderness Campground, high temperatures commonly reach the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 60's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and overnight lows through the wintertime for Ft wilderness Campground tend to be in the 20's.
