Be careful coming to Fort Cannon Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. Hiking along the Gage Trail is wonderful fun, and as expected, A tour to Porter Cove is always fun. Fort Cannon Campground is a very popular campground with residents of Franklin. Fort Cannon Campground is a relatively wet place usually with a good deal of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is March, and October is when it's the driest. If you want a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Fort Cannon Campground. There is a magnificent hiking trail near Fort Cannon Campground called the Rartram Trail, and do take a look at Pine Hill Trailer Park Dam since you're here. This is such a brilliant campground. On a nice day at Fort Cannon Campground you can take a hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail; Cullasaja River is a magnificent whitewater spot nearby.
