Fort Cannon Campground is right by the Stewart Trail; an afternoon playing golf at Franklin Golf Course is always a diversion. That right there is heaps already, but it continues; Fort Cannon Campground has it all. There's whitewater on Cullasaja River for all you adrenaline people; a trip to Nantahala National Forest invigorates the spirit.

| from Franklin come to Fort Cannon Campground, and the summit of Hyatt Knob can be observed from Fort Cannon Campground. All the water falling down from the sky makes Fort Cannon Campground a wet place; the wettest month of the year is commonly March, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month of the year is October. Porter Cove is a tremendous site to explore nearby, and you don’t have to go far from Fort Cannon Campground to spot the water at Pine Hill Trailer Park Dam.

may think that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Have a great hiking adventure along the Shortoff Mountain Trail, and unsurprisingly, everybody loves Black Rock Mountain State Park. This is such a beautiful campground. Mashburn
Branch is one of the streams nearby that might be worth visiting, and hiking along the Hurricane Creek Trail is wonderful fun. There's such a great deal of things to do in the vicinity of Fort Cannon Campground, and it is one of scores of great campgrounds in this vicinity.
What would winter be without some skiing at Scaly Mountain, and going for a hike along the Rartram Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. This is no place for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Cartoogechaye
River.
All through the summertime months highs here at Fort Cannon Campground get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 60's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Fort Cannon Campground.
The positive surroundings and all the cool stuff to do makes the journey here worthwhile.
