You've been indoors for too much   time, you need to get out of the house, and Flintlock Campground in North Carolina is the outdoors at its most excellent. Hawksnest is liked by skiers; it has 70% beginner and intermediate trails and 30% difficult trails. A total of 20 acres of ski terrain in all. Hawksnest, the nearby ski area has a drop of 619 feet; this ski area has 4 lifts, and 6 feet of snow yearly covering its 12 trails. The 1,200 feet of drop from top to bottom at close by Sugar Mountain       is pure merriment. Sugar Mountain obtains 7 feet of beautiful snow per winter on its 20 slopes that are served by its 8 good ski lifts. About 15% of the slopes covering the 115 acres of skiable terrain at Sugar Mountain are black   and red while 85% of the slopes are beginner and intermediate. Skiers enjoy Sugar Mountain; it's a great ski area. On Watauga River close by you come upon the 2-mile-in-distance SR 1557 to North Carolina 105 section of type II-IV whitewater. Raft paddlers on this sweep of Watauga River should boast some experience in raft paddling.
