Man, is there plenty of amusing stuff to do near Country woods. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Cullasaja River, and there's always Grant Dam to pop by next to Country woods. The folks who watch over the
| campground and the fine multitude of fun activities makes the spree here worthwhile. Country woods is a very popular old favorite campground among people from Franklin.
You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Go for a hike on the Rartram Trail, and what would winter be without some skiing at Scaly Mountain. If you go for the outdoors you'll go for it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Near Country woods you find the Hurricane Creek Trail which is a glorious hiking trail, and
get covered with water paddling on Cullasaja River. Throughout the months of summer at Country woods highs are ordinarily in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs all through the wintertime are mostly in the 40's, and night lows at Country woods during
the winter usually dip into the 20's. This is such a fun spot for a campground. There is a nice hiking trail right next door to Country woods called the Stewart Trail; hey, Satser Branch is a magnificent local stream.
As long as you go for the outdoors you will go for North
Carolina. Country woods sees pretty high levels of precipitation; through the month of March you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is October. On a wonderful day at Country woods you can take a hike along the Gage Trail, and from Country woods you get a pleasant
panorama of Sanders Knob.
If only every location had this much outdoors fun things, what a great world it would be. Black Rock Mountain State Park is a wonderful spot any time of year. This camp ground is one of the glorious spots to camp here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Playing golf is lots of fun at Mill Creek Country Club, and Cartoogechaye River has a great whitewater paddling spot nearby. So many local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are good causes to come.
