A campground like this is too magnificent to miss. Take a hike on the Sugarland Mountain Trail, and Homer Burgess Dam is a delightful site. Having a nice time in the Great Smoky Mountains is simple. The top of O'Dear Knob is easily observed from Cherokee Campground, and this is a popular site
    for folks from Cherokee.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a very magnificent place to go to near Cherokee Campground; on a nice day you can take a hike along the Palmer Creek Trail. Nick Bottom is a delightful location to stop at while in the vicinity, and a great spot
nearby is Thomas Valley. Cherokee Campground frequently gets a large amount of rain; during the month of March you get the most rain around here; the driest month is October.
There's such a great deal of things to do close to Cherokee Campground, and when you are here for a while you will feel like a whole new person. While you're here at Cherokee Campground you can take a hike along the Messer Trail; in the event that you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Tuckasegee River.

But wait, there's more to do in the neighborhood of Cherokee Campground. Deep Creek has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot nearby, and Cherokee Campground is right by the Tsali Horse Trail. At Cherokee Campground during the summertime highs are in the 80's, and the overnight is fairly cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Cherokee Campground dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights.
