If you're here at Catawba Falls Campground, you could stop at Mill Creek, and get your pulse rate up on the splendid whitewater of Catawba River. At this campground you will always have a pleasant time. The Bald Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; if you're popping by from Old Fort, you won't be the only one. All the water falling down from the sky makes Catawba Falls Campground a wet location; most of the rain falls through March, and the driest month of the year is December. For the period of the summer months highs here at Catawba Falls Campground reach the 80's while overnight lows are mostly in the 50's. Through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Catawba Falls Campground are in the 10's. Whitewater paddling is   not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Curtis Creek; Lake James State Park is a pretty spot any time of year. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors amusing stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. Very scenic scenery and good skiing is what you get at Wolf Laurel; the scenery at Camp Grier Dam is pretty. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is excellent! Since you're here at Catawba Falls Campground why not take a look at Padgett Cove, and a golf course close by is Old Fort Golf Course. This place, Catawba Falls Campground, it just has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. Bergen Mountain is easy to spot from Catawba Falls Campground; a splendid place for whitewater paddling is Rocky Broad River. This campground is a striking location to check out.
