In the event that you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Ausable River - West Branch, and you'll probably meet some people from Lake Placid here. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Whispering Pines Campground. Going for a hike on the Algonquin Peak-Adirondack Loj is always a brilliant adventure, and whitewater paddling is good on Ausable River - West Branch. Be careful coming to the Adirondack Mountains, you might not ever want to go home again. If you're here at Whispering Pines Campground, do take a visit to Paradox Bay, and Ausable River - West Branch is a good whitewater spot nearby. Yeah, come up here to the Adirondack Mountains for a great time. Good hiking is available along the Mt. Colden-Adirondack Loj, and there are wonderful sites to look at along the Gray Peak-Adirondack Loj. Go for a hike on the Iroquois Peak-Adirondack Loj, and Whispering Pines Campground is not the only location nearby, Mirror Lake is a nearby lake. Whispering Pines Campground gets a common amount of yearly rainfall; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is February.
