Thompson's Lake State Park, Catskill Mountains, New York   This is not your typical campground where you are on top of all your neighbors. From a rainfall point of view Thompson's Lake State Park is a quite typical place; the month with most of the rain is June, and the driest month of the year is February. The caring people working here and the good facilities attract people from all over. The snow is great at Windham Mountain, and Max V. Shaul State Park is a splendid place. This part of New York is always a diversion to pop by during camping season. Paddling on Ten Mile Creek is so much fun, and East Hill is painless to spot from Thompson's Lake State Park. At this campground you will always have a pleasant time. Whitewater paddling is delightful on Fox Creek, and obviously Beaverdam Creek is a striking stream that is worth taking a look at. There's more to do in the vicinity of Thompson's Lake State Park other than just hanging out such as fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. All through the long summer days here at Thompson's Lake State Park, high temperatures usually get into the 70's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's; nighttime lows at Thompson's Lake State Park during the winter usually descend into the 10's.
