There's just no way someone can get bored here at Schroon Lake Campground. D.A.R. State Park is a good place to stop by, and some of the water nearby flows, like Platt Brook. The peak of Severance Hill can be seen from Schroon Lake     Campground, and Town of Schroon Golf Club is a golf course close by. This campground is a delightful site to stop by. This is a popular place for people from Schroon Lake; going for a hike on the Long Swing Trail is always a wonderful adventure. Be careful coming to Schroon Lake Campground, you might not ever want to go back home again. You just should like the Adirondack Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend The Branch; the Spectacle Pond Trail is a fine hiking trail nearby. This is such a fun site for a campground. Don't leave Schroon Lake Campground without first going for a hike along the Short Swing Trail; get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Trout Brook River. All through the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 70's at Schroon Lake Campground.   Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Schroon Lake Campground are in the 0's. Do schedule some time to check out Lockwood Bay next to Schroon Lake Campground if you have a chance, and a lake close by is Spectacle Pond. Schroon Lake Campground gets a typical amount of precipitation; August is the wettest month with most rain; February on the other hand is the driest. These mountains rock, just check out all the enjoyable stuff to do in the Adirondack Mountains. Go for a hike on the Pharoah Mountain Trail, and the slopes of Hickory Ski Center are so inviting noone can resist.
