| | Rip Van Winkle Campground is a beautiful 160 acre campground located in the foothills of the Catskill Mountains just 2 hours from New York City and convenient to all the Hudson Valley has to offer.
We have something for everyone. Whether your camping style involves a luxury motorhome on a full service site, getting down to basics tent camping, or anything in between, Rip Van Winkle Campground is where you want to be! We even have rental units available and weekend by bus packages for those who want a hassle-free getaway in the woods!

a day, a week, or the entire season! With different areas in the park, you can have different experiences each time you come. The Ledges area of the park offers plenty of full service sites nestled in the center of the park along a magnificent stone ledge. The Riverside Area is
| perfect for those tent-camping or camping in pop-ups who want to be able to hear the babbling of the Plattekill Creek as they wile away the hours by the fire. The newly relocated Lovers’ Lane, ready for the 2010 season, is a little further off the beaten path and is perfect for that romantic getaway you’ve been dreaming about. Last but not least, we can’t forget Rip’s Rally! This area of the park can accommodate groups so that you can share your camping experience with friends and family all on the same site!

Get yourself into a kayak and hit Esopus Creek, and some of the water nearby flows, like Lucas Kill. Float down the rapids of Beaver Kill River in a kayak; a beautiful lake like Saugerties Reservoir is a brilliant place to take a look at. And that's not all the things you can do
here in the Catskill Mountains. Don't leave Rip Van winkle Campgrounds without first going for a hike along the Spruceton Trail, and Rip Van winkle Campgrounds is a location with many visitors from Palenville. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Rip Van winkle

the 20's; night lows at Rip Van winkle Campgrounds during the winter regularly dip into the 0's. This campground is a lovely spot to explore. There's perfect hiking along the Willow Trail, and a tour to Lake Taghkanic State Park when you're here is never a bad idea. This is
such a fun spot for a campground. Get drenched paddling on Plattekill Creek; if you like skiing, you're in luck; Hunter Mountain is quite near. The yearly rainfall here at Rip Van winkle Campgrounds is about average; May is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
