The good local attractions and the good variety of outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back persistently. 7 different ski lifts transport skiers up the mountain, so they can enjoy the 29 runs of the close by       ski hill, Catamount. Catamount has an altitude difference of 1,000 feet and boasts 7 feet of beautiful snow every season. There are 105 acres of skiable terrain at Catamount, 30% of the runs are tough; those are the ones the expert   skiers enjoy the most. 70% of the runs at Catamount are blue and green and suitable for little ones and novices. Near Copake KOA is a fine 14-mile-long part of whitewater on Roeliff Jansen Kill River, a grade I-III, this is the Ancram to Elizaville portion.
