Summer at High Peaks Base Camp comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 20's with temperatures at High Peaks Base Camp dipping down into the 0's during winter nights. There are so many cool things near High Peaks Base Camp, and if you're looking for a nice place to go for a camping trip, this is a tremendous choice. So many enjoyable things to do in the Adirondack Mountains, not enough time. Why not take a refreshing   hike along the Gothics-''The Garden,'' Keene Valley, and whitewater paddling is good on Ausable River - East Branch. From a rain point of view High Peaks Base Camp is a rather normal location; the wettest month of the year is frequently August, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month is February. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Adirondack Mountains. D.A.R. State Park is a brilliant site to stretch your legs a bit; the peak of Ebenezer Mountain can be observed from High Peaks Base Camp. High Peaks Base Camp is enormously popular with the folks in Keene. Getting to Lewis Brook from High Peaks Base Camp is painless; you can go for a hike on the Esther Mountain-Whiteface Mt. Mem. Highway. This is such a splendid campground. High Peaks Base Camp is not far at all from Keene, and get dripping wet paddling on Ausable River - West Branch. This campground is so splendid. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Whiteface Mountain; brilliant hiking is available along the Mt. Haystack-''The Garden,'' Keene Valley. All the jolly people and the abundance of amusing stuff to do attract folks from near and far. You need to get out of the house, and High Peaks Base Camp in New York is a nice place to go.
