Coles Creek State Park, New York   We had a great time this past weekend! Almost every site in the campground is a good one! Great small beach area for the kids, well monitored by at least 3 lifeguards at a time! Employees drive around all the time checking things out, picking up your garbage and just chatting with the campers. The facilities are all new and the cleanliness is impressive. The showers were too HOT, though. Couldn't adjust temperature. My daughter loved watching the ships go by! If I wasn't already settled in my own hometown, I could easily become a river-rat! Nothing     compares to the beauty of the Thousand Islands and the St. Lawrence! There is no concession as shown on the campground map. The town of Waddington is a skip away (we found soft ice cream at the local bowling alley!) There is a wonderful rec center for the kiddos, though, with activities going on all the time (except Sun & Mon). If it's too rainy for your visit, the City of Massena is only 15 mins away and you can shop in their mall or see a movie to pass the time. Says eden1127 There's some flowing water nearby, Coles Creek is a stream you can stop at while you're here, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Raquette River. During the summer months at Coles Creek State Park highs are regularly in the 80's with night lows in the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 20's,   and night lows at Coles Creek State Park all through the wintertime ordinarily descend into the 0's. Near Coles Creek State Park you stumble on a golf course called Twin Brooks 18 Hole Public Golf Course, and you'll perhaps meet some people from Chase Mills here. The yearly rain here at Coles Creek State Park is about average; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is the month with the least moisture. This place, Coles Creek State Park, it completely has so much outdoors exciting stuff. This is such a brilliant campground. Higley Flow State Park is a glorious site to stretch your legs a bit, and there are some wonderful whitewater spots on Grass River. When you're here at Coles Creek State Park it's always fun to take a look at Coles Creek State Park, and nearby Goose Neck Islands Shoals is a great site to go.
