Places like Oliver Lee Memorial State Park are magnificent to check out, and going for a hike on the Osha Trail is always a great adventure. Quite a lot of exciting stuff to do right next door to Upper Fir Group Area, and it is one of a lot of splendid campgrounds in this region.

Loads of folks camp here to be next to White Sands National Monument. The people who care for the campground and all the exciting stuff to do have loads of people coming here.
Be careful coming to Upper Fir Group Area, you might
not ever want to return home again. Upper Fir Group Area is pretty waterless ordinarily; August is when you get the most rain here, and April is when it's the driest.
