From a rain point of view Loon Lake Campground is a rather normal place; most of the rain falls during August, and the driest month of the year is February. Don't leave Loon Lake Campground without first going for a hike along the Dartmouth Outing Club Trail, and some of the water nearby flows, like Ledge Pond Brook. Loon Lake Campground is a site with many visitors from Sunapee, and a good place for whitewater paddling is Mascoma River. The folks who watch over the campground and the competently managed operations have folks coming from near and far. Lake Sunapee is a nearby lake that you could explore, and if you're looking for a beach close by we recommend Dewey Beach. Having a perfect time at Loon Lake Campground is easy. There's whitewater on Croyden Brook for all you thrill seekers, and a pleasant beach close by is State Park Beach.
