There are wonderful spots to look at along the County Road 50 Trail System, and while you're here you will meet lots of folks from close by Backus. This is truly a great campground. The Goose Lake Trail System is a wonderful hiking trail near Portage Camp Resort, and enjoy a round of golf at Black Bear Golf Course. Summertime highs at Portage Camp
| Resort typically tend to be in the 70's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 10's, and after the sun is down through the winter temperatures at Portage Camp Resort sink into the-10's.
