Coming to this campground is always a good idea. Pokegama Lake RV Park is close to Banning State Park which is a lovely site, and brilliant hiking is available along the Sunrise Ferry Hiking Trail. If time allows, Saint Croix National Scenic River is a national park worth stopping at, and a nice site for whitewater paddling is Kettle River.
