Camp Du Nord, Minnesota   We are a YMCA Family Camp located on Burntside Lake, 13 weeks out of the summer we run family programming from Sat. To Sat. During the Fall, Winter, Spring we rent out our cabins and facilities to individuals, groups, families, organizations, companies. We offer a variety of retreats through the year including women's weekends. This place, Camp Du Nord, it definitely has so much outdoors entertaining stuff. At Camp Du Nord you always meet someone from Ely; there is a magnificent hiking trail close by called the Echo Trail. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Giants Ridge if you're here; Bear Head Lake State Park is worth stopping at. The warmest time of the year at Camp Du Nord arrives with high temperatures in the 70's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 10's while Camp Du Nord night low temperatures throughout the winter are   in the-20's. This campground has so much enjoyable stuff to offer. A tour to Camp Du Nord wouldn’t be complete without a tour to close by Superior National Forest; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Stuart Portage. If you come at the right time of year, Stony River offers some pleasant whitewater, and do stop by Burntside Lake, it's a striking lake. Hey, it's time for camping, don't you think? Camp Du Nord in Minnesota is such a great spot. If you go for the outdoors, you won’t be disappointed; there's fishing, hiking, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so in all probability you want to stick around. Camp Du Nord is positioned in an area with a lot of entertaining things to do, and spending time at this campground is incredibly pleasant. Camp Du Nord gets a normal amount of annual precipitation; most of the rain falls during June; the driest month is February. Don't forget to go to North Arm if you're here at Camp Du Nord; nearby you hit upon the Crooked Lake Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail.
