Whitewater
paddling is great on Sturgeon River, naturally you could also take a look at Twin Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mackinaw Campgrounds; Mackinac Trail is a great local trail, and if you're popping by from Mackinaw City, you won't
be the only one. Throughout the long summer days at Mackinaw Campgrounds highs are mostly in the 70's. Summer night lows sink down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; night lows through the wintertime for Mackinaw Campgrounds tend to be in the 0's.
Mackinaw Campgrounds is a good place of common precipitation; during the month of September you get the most rain around here, and February is the month with the least moisture. This campground has so much amusing stuff to offer. Good hiking is available along the Horseshoe Bay
Trail; if you're here, do take a tour to Cadottes Point. The snow is great at Nubs Nob; get dripping wet paddling on Bear River. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. A pleasant site like Burt Lake State Park close to Mackinaw Campgrounds is too good to leave out, and don't leave without visiting Straits State Park.
