Walker Island Camping, Massachusetts   The staff at Walker Island was very friendly. There were many faucets located near campsites, and an outhouse, and an outlet in some sites. Our sites were located by the brook which on the other side is a busy road that large trucks occasionally rumble by. The pool was 5ft deep, compared to the 'small beach' which is literally a pile of sand plopped by the brook. No swimming in this beach. The arrow pointing to the spring is really a spring hung on a tree. Not so funny when your vacation hopes were to swim in some natural waters. Hiking may be     difficult to find ask for directions. Says ML Walker Island Camping sees pretty high levels of rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain while January is usually the driest month. This campground is so wonderful. Don't leave Walker Island Camping without first going for a hike along the Spring Trail, and Tolland State Forest is a brilliant spot to stretch your legs a bit. As if Walker Island Camping wasn't enough, you can also go hiking, swimming, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored. Throughout the long summer days at Walker Island Camping highs are usually in the 80's; the nighttime is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Walker Island Camping are in the 10's. Walker Island   Camping is incredibly well loved by the people from Chester. Walker Brook is a pretty stream that is worth taking a look at, and there's great hiking along the County Road Trail. Some people choose Walker Island Camping when going to Chester-Blandford State Forest. When you're here at Walker Island Camping it's always fun to check out Chester-Blandford State Forest; if you're visiting from Chester, you won't be the only one. There is so much exciting stuff to do in close proximity to Walker Island Camping, and if you're trying to find a magnificent place to go for a camping trip, this is a glorious pick. Good hiking is available along the Richard Trail; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Blandford since you're here. Whitewater paddling is wonderful on Westfield River - West Branch, and the summit of Abbott Hill can be seen from Walker Island Camping. With such a large number of things to do in Massachusetts you'll never get bored. The pleasant reception and all the enjoyable things to do are motive enough to come here. You clearly must love Walker Island Camping. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Walker Brook; Excalibur Lake is a good lake nearby. Get your camping stuff packed and head for the campground; Walker Island Camping, Massachusetts is a magnificent place for getting out. A campground like this is too wonderful to miss. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Walker Island Camping; Link Trail is a good local trail.
