This is in fact a nice campground. Drift down the rapids of Ashuelot River - South Branch in a kayak; an afternoon playing golf at Gardner Municipal Golf Course is always a joy. The annual rainfall here at Peaceful Pines is about average; during May this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is February. As long as you fancy the outdoors you will fancy Massachusetts. You've been indoors for too much time, you have to get out of the house, and Peaceful Pines is a brilliant local campground if   you happen to be in Massachusetts. Man, is there heaps of entertaining things to do close to Peaceful Pines. Whitewater paddling is magnificent on Millers River; if the weather is fine, you can go for a hike along the Red Cross Trail. Many folks stay at this campground to be next to Otter River State Forest. If only every location had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be. This is a popular place for folks from Templeton, and of course, everybody loves Gardner Heritage State Park. This campground is so stunning. Paddling on Contoocook River is so much fun; there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Parker Trail. Templeton State Forest is a brilliant local forest, and Otter River State Forest is a great location. At Peaceful Pines throughout the summertime months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at Peaceful Pines are in the 0's. Going for a hike along the White Dot Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region, and Dolbier Hill can be seen from Peaceful Pines.
