Happy Hills Campground, Maryland Custom Search   Nestled on a wooded mountain just five miles west of historical Hancock , MD you will find Happy Hills Campground for your fun and relaxation. There are 285 camping site and 9 cabins. Enjoy the changing seasons on our 350 beautiful mountain acres of trees and trails. In any season with unique mountain atmosphere, we have miles of hiking; or walk to the C & O Canal National Park where you can hike, ride your bike for miles in view of the beautiful Potomac River. There is also a rails and trails bike path just recently completed where you can ride your     bike for miles on a hard surface. We offer a full range of planned activities for young and old. Also available for your enjoyment is a wide range of recreational facilities Our 350 acres encompass 285 shaded campsites, most complete with electric, water, cable and sewage hook-ups. Firewood. Pavilion. Game Room. Security People who patrol the campground to help the campers. There's delightful hiking along the Silas Trail, and places like Cacapon State Park are delightful to take a look at. The Fisher Trail offers hiking at its best; paddling on Sideling Hill   Creek is so much fun. For the period of the months of summer at Happy Hills Campground highs are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs throughout the winter are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Happy Hills Campground. This campground is so great. Good hiking is available along the Big Flat Trail; whitewater paddling is good on Sleepy Creek. A campground like this is too great to miss. A visit to Appalachian National Scenic Trail is worthwhile, and Happy Hills Campground is right by the Lawhead Trail. From a rainfall point of view Happy Hills Campground is a pretty typical spot; May is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month is January. And if you're still looking for more outdoors fun things just keep reading. Hiking along the Gabriel Trail is pleasant fun, and obviously Sir Johns Run flows through this area. Lakes? Sure, Basin C is close by, and float down the rapids of Sleepy Creek - Meadow Branch in a kayak. You get a great view of Roundtop Hill from Happy Hills Campground, and if you're visiting from Hancock, you won't be the only one.
