Happy Hills Campground, Maryland   Nestled on a wooded mountain just five miles west of historical Hancock , MD you will find Happy Hills Campground for your fun and relaxation. There are 285 camping site and 9 cabins. Enjoy the changing seasons on our 350 beautiful mountain acres of trees and trails. In any season with unique mountain atmosphere, we have miles of hiking; or walk to the C & O Canal National Park where you can hike, ride your bike for miles in view of the beautiful Potomac River. There is also a rails and trails bike path just recently completed where you can ride your     bike for miles on a hard surface. We offer a full range of planned activities for young and old. Also available for your enjoyment is a wide range of recreational facilities Our 350 acres encompass 285 shaded campsites, most complete with electric, water, cable and sewage hook-ups. Other Facilities include. Easy walking distance of well maintained washrooms and showers. Laundry facilities. Propane filling station. General Store. Public telephone. Sanitary disposal station. Ice. Firewood. Pavilion. Game Room. Security People who patrol the campground to help the campers. Good hiking is available along the Lawhead Trail, and Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a good location nearby. Whitewater paddling is tremendous on Sideling Hill Creek, and there's great   hiking along the Gabriel Trail. This is such a fun place for a campground. Get drenched paddling on Sleepy Creek - Meadow Branch, and nearby you stumble on the Big Flat Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. From a rain point of view Happy Hills Campground is a rather common place; the month with most of the rain is May, and January meanwhile is the driest month. If only every site had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great world it would be. Sleepy Creek has a good whitewater paddling spot close by; going for a hike on the Silas Trail is always a pleasant adventure. If the weather is delightful, you acquire a wonderful sight of Roundtop Hill from Happy Hills Campground, and you're sure to run into some great folks from Hancock here. Go for a hike on the Fisher Trail, and some of the water close by flows, like Sir Johns Run. This campground is a beautiful place to visit. A tour to Cacapon State Park invigorates the spirit. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Happy Hills Campground. For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and night lows during the wintertime for Happy Hills Campground tend to be in the 10's.
