Crow's Nest Campground, Maryland   This campground, I have stayed at numerous times.  So far I have not had any issues.  Its very quiet in the evening and the owner is very friendly.  However, when pulling into the camp ground there is what seems to be an active trailer park on the right hand side.  The best Sites are located along the stream ending near the upper pools. Says Brandon IMPORTANT NOTICE: We have received an unconfirmed report that this campground permanently houses two convicted sex offenders. We have been unable to reach the campground to clarify this. Take     a little spree to High Run while you're here at Crow's Nest Campground, and the Cunningham Falls Nature Trail is a nice hiking trail close by. There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Crow's Nest Campground. Whitewater paddling is great on Owens Creek, and you can go for a hike on the Sandy Ridge Trail. This campground is a good location to pop by. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hunting Creek, and there are other spots here than Crow's Nest Campground, for example Hunting Creek Lake. Owens Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot in the neighborhood of Crow's Nest Campground, and a spree to Seneca Creek State Park revives the soul. Be careful coming to Crow's Nest Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a very   great spot to explore close to Crow's Nest Campground, and going for a hike on the Spiderbush Nature Trail is always a pleasant adventure. Catoctin Mountain Park is a brilliant place right next door to Crow's Nest Campground, and Greenbrier State Park is a wonderful spot to take a look at. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Crow's Nest Campground while overnight lows are usually in the 60's. Throughout the winter the highs are frequently in the 30's with temperatures at Crow's Nest Campground dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights. Coming to this campground is always a good idea. A day on the slopes of Ski Liberty is just what you need, and there are good sites to look at along the Warrior Trail. Crow's Nest Campground is a good location of common rain; most of the rain falls through May while February is frequently the driest month. Crow's Nest Campground is not far at all from Thurmont, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the High Rock Nature Trail.
