White Birches Campground, Maine

| | We went there in September, but, it seemed like an ideal, quiet place for hikers who may want to get off the beaten track on a very commercial island. The showers were clean, the sites were clean and it was not the most expensive. Forewarned, the shuttle bus doesn't go there, price to pay for remoteness. Says Scott

This campground has so much. There's whitewater on Union River for all you adrenaline kick people, and the Perpendicular Trail is a pleasant hiking trail close by. Going for a hike on the Beech Mountain West Ridge Trail is always
a good adventure; you'll probably meet some folks from Southwest Harbor here. White Birches Campground is fantastically popular with residents of Southwest Harbor. You must certainly stop at Beach Cliff since you're here at White Birches Campground. Some activities here at
White Birches Campground are swimming, hiking, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do. There's so much to do right next door to White Birches Campground; it is a fun location for everybody. Heath Brook is one of the streams nearby that might
be worth taking a look at, and you can always enjoy a lazy day on the beach at Echo Lake Beach. If you come to this campground, you will have a great time for sure. There is a splendid hiking trail in the neighborhood of White Birches Campground called the South Ridge Trail, and
since you're here, do take a spree to Anns Point. Acadia National Park is a brilliant national park, and a wonderful location for whitewater paddling is Branch Lake Stream. All through the warm days of summer here at White Birches Campground, high temperatures frequently get
into the 70's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 50's. Highs all through the winter are mostly in the 30's while White Birches Campground nighttime low temperatures throughout the winter are in the 10's. This section of Maine is always a bliss
to have a look at all through camping season. The pleasant folks working here and all the cool stuff to do are a good draw for scores of folks. You can run the rapids of Blue Hill Falls near White Birches Campground, and needless to say, all our national parks are tremendous
places to stop at and Maine Acadian Culture is no exception. On a magnificent day at White Birches Campground you can take a hike along the Razorback Trail, and Great Notch is another great place to check out nearby. All the good local attractions in the neighborhood and the good variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came.
