There is a good hiking trail in close proximity to The Moorings Campground called the Mount Megunticook Trail, and hey, Goose River is a glorious local stream. The Spring Brook Trail is a delightful hiking trail next to The Moorings Campground, and why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Searsport Pines Golf Course. A good deal of precipitation falls at The Moorings Campground; most of the rain falls through November; July is when it's the driest.
Summertime highs at The Moorings Campground generally tend to be in the 70's while overnight lows are regularly in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while the cold winter nights at The Moorings Campground are in the 10's. The Moorings Campground is very popular with people from Belfast.
What a location this is for outdoors folks. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby Mill Pond; get your heart beating on the pleasant whitewater of Goose River.
