There's such an incredible array of things to do at The Birches Campground including playing golf, whitewater paddling, swimming, fishing, and hiking, so you won’t get bored. The splendid people who manage this place and the perfectly looked after facilities have folks coming from far and wide. The warmest time of the year at The Birches Campground arrives with high temperatures in the
    80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. Highs throughout the wintertime are mostly in the 20's while the cold winter nights at The Birches Campground are in the 10's.
Outdoors people generally love this sector of Maine. You'll never forgive yourself
if you don’t go skiing at Lost Valley if you're here; get yourself into a kayak and hit Cobbosseecontee Stream. This is in fact a wonderful campground. Take a side journey to Ashford Brook, and playing golf is lots of fun at Meadows Golf Course.
You definitely must like The Birches Campground. Peacock Beach State Park is a great location to stop at on a wonderful day; during your journey here you'll meet some people from Litchfield for sure. The Birches Campground is a top pick campground with the people in Litchfield.
Lakes are good; Mud Pond
 
is a lake that's in the neighborhood of The Birches Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Cathance River offers some good whitewater. Some people camp here to be right next door to Peacock Beach State Park. The Birches Campground regularly gets lots of rain; the month of November is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is September.
There's fine hiking along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and from The Birches Campground you get a good sight of Springer Hill. Ok, you've been cooped up too long; The Birches Campground in Maine is a splendid place to go.
The great variety of local attractions and such an incredible array of things to do are great reasons to come. The surroundings of this campground have so many things to offer. You don’t have to go far from The Birches Campground to see the water at Mill Pond Dam.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cobbosseecontee Stream; Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park is both pleasant and stunning.
