  If you’re looking for that tucked away campground that is “off the beaten path of commercial camping” you’ve found it.   Sunset Point is nestled approximately half way between Bar Harbor and Eastport and easily passed by, by travelers in a rush.   Located on tidal shores and only 3 miles off Rte 1 we offer campers to stop and smell the roses.  The country atmosphere, the scenic downeast coastal setting and a host with a personal touch will make this stop a memorable one.   Easy in easy out and pull thrus that accommodate any vehicle length will make this
    a hassle free overnight stay.  Walk along the shore, smell the ocean and observe clam diggers and lobster fishermen do their daily chores.  Well kept grounds, clean restrooms, kiddie corner and a good selection of books in our swap library might make this your destination to visit
destinations.  Within an hour’s drive you can visit Bar Harbor, Lubec, Petit Manan Wildlife Preserve, Rogue Bluffs State Park and Fishing Villages such as Jonesport, Winter Harbor, Prospect Harbor or take a ride on the world famous Cat.  At Sunset Point you won’t find entertainment, just, “Simplicity at its Best.

The Mud Hole Trail is a delightful hiking trail near Sunset Point Campground; if you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Pleasant River. This campground is a perfect place to have a look at. Get soaked paddling
 
on Mopang Stream, and Sunset Point Campground is near Harthorne Ledge which is unquestionably worth stopping at. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! Sunset Point Campground rules! Hit the beach if you want, Jordan Beach is practically right here, and Roque Bluffs State Park is a brilliant place to go.
Whitewater paddling is splendid on Machias River, and there's some flowing water nearby, Mill Creek is a stream you can explore while here. You are in close proximity to Coffins Point since you're here at Sunset Point Campground, and there are plenty of folks from Harrington here. Sunset Point Campground sees pretty high levels of precipitation; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow; the driest of the months is August.
All through the days of summer, highs frequently are in the 70's at Sunset Point Campground, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 20's; during the dark hours in the winter at Sunset Point Campground temperatures drop to the 0's.
