The high level of precipitation makes Mt Desert Campground a pretty wet spot; of all the months in a year November is the one with the most rain while August is commonly the driest month. Hadlock Upper Dam has delightful water scenery and it's right next door to Mt Desert Campground; if you come at the right time of year, Union River offers some tremendous whitewater. a fun activity, and this is a glorious place to do that. Outdoors recreation is abundant, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is fishing, hiking, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. The staff who's always there to
be of assistance and the enormously skillfully managed facilities attract people from far and near. Swamps like Sunken Heath are fun to go to, and one of the best things about this site is its proximity to Hunters Beach. The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff
to offer. The Parkman Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best; Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park is a fine place to stop by on a wonderful day. This is really a brilliant campground. There are plenty of people from Northeast Harbor here at Mt Desert Campground; Southwest Valley
is right here at Mt Desert Campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Blue Hill Falls, and Sargent Brook is in close proximity to Mt Desert Campground and is always a joy to pop by. Ok, you've been indoors for too much time, now's the time for going camping, and Mt Desert Campground in Maine is a glorious place to go.
