You're sure to run into some cheerful people from Greenville Junction here; going for a hike on the Big Squaw Mountain Trail is always a good adventure. This campground has so many cool things to offer. Peaks-Kenny State Park is worth stopping at if you're at Moosehead Family Campground; if you come at the right time of year, Piscataquis River - East Branch offers some brilliant whitewater. From a precipitation point of view Moosehead Family Campground is a pretty   common site; July is when you get the most rain here; February is the month with the least moisture. There are some nice whitewater spots on Piscataquis River - West Branch, and of course, everyone loves Lily Bay State Park. Just can't get enough of Moosehead Family Campground. There's whitewater on Big Wilson Stream for all you adrenaline people, and there are other locations here than Moosehead Family Campground, for example Shirley Pond.
