Lobster Buoy Campsite, Maine
|
| | My family and I camped at Lobster Buoy when I was 13. So many years ago....and so many memories. We were visiting my son, Matt, last May and got lost. I noticed a sign by the road and rememberred the turn. It was as beautiful and for a short while I was young again. Says Andrea
I have been going to Lobster Buoy in South Thomaston, ME almost every summer for the past 20 years. It's my family's favorite campsite. Small, family friendly but not with the luxuries you find at other campgrounds - which is the whole point of camping! There's beaches to explore, |
|
boats to rent, the Lobster Festival in Rockland, several lighthouses nearby like Owlhead just up the road and Marshall Point in Port Clyde - which, by the way, is the lighthouse that Forrest Gump runs up on his cross-country run! So many fun things to do, and lots of peace and
| quiet with a huge beach make for a great campsite for those who want to get away and spend time outdoors. Says Rachel
Get covered with water paddling on St. George River; while you're here you can take a hike along the Spring Brook Trail. What would winter be without some skiing at Camden, and you can have a brilliant hiking adventure along the Mount Megunticook Trail. Rockland Golf Club is a splendid golf course close by, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Ducktrap River. If you go for the outdoors, you'll adore Lobster Buoy Campsite. Here | |

at Lobster Buoy Campsite you'll perhaps meet some folks from South Thomaston, and do take a hike on the Ragged Mountain Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do here at Lobster Buoy Campsite, too good to be true. Moose Point State Park is a tremendous place to stop by on a pretty
day. During the summer months at Lobster Buoy Campsite highs are commonly in the 70's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Lobster Buoy Campsite. This is beyond doubt
a great campground. A day at gorgeous Lucia Beach right next door to Lobster Buoy Campsite is a glorious thing to do; of course Sharkeyville Creek flows through this neighborhood. Ingraham Hill is clearly visible from Lobster Buoy Campsite, and hiking along the Mount Battie
Trail is glorious fun. Hayden Point is close at hand and always tremendous to go to, and close by Grace Rock is a good location to go. Lobster Buoy Campsite is a wet place that gets a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is November, and July on the other hand is the
driest. The surroundings of this campground have such a great deal of things to offer. A journey to Camden Hills State Park when you're here at Lobster Buoy Campsite is never a bad idea, and paddling on Oyster River is so much fun.
