| | The Carsey family welcomes you to a Downeast camping experience. Our campground is on the ''quiet side'' of Mount Desert Island and only a 10 minute walk from Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse. Each of the 120 shady or wooded sites has a Fireplace and Picnic Table.
We also have Camping Cabins that rent from Saturday to Saturday.
Free WiFi in the RV area and a Computer Station in the Office for camper use.
Free Shuttle Bus comes by the Campground every half hour.

trail is most likely referring to Ship Harbor trail. There is also a very lengthy unofficial hiking trail just to the left before the top of the long wooden stairway behind the lighthouse. Rangers usually toss some branches over the start of the trail to make it appear there
| is no trail there. the Bass Harbor Lighthouse is about a 20 minute walk away. Says ThirdStone
Going for a hike on the Wonderland Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and whitewater paddling is glorious on Branch Lake Stream. At Bass Harbor Campground through the summer highs are in the 70's, and all through the night it cools down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Bass Harbor Campground overnight low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 10's. Bass Harbor Head; there's delightful hiking along the South Ridge Trail. Nothing beats kicking back at Echo Lake Beach; hiking is a popular thing to do around Bass Harbor Campground; Flying Mountain Trail is a tremendous local trail. Any time is a delightful time at Bass Harbor
Campground if you fancy the outdoors. In the event that you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Blue Hill Falls, and there are great locations to discover along the Harbor Trail. Coming to this ski mountain is always a great idea. Enjoy a
lazy day on the beach at Cobble Beach; a journey to Maine Acadian Culture is worthwhile. This ski mountain is so great. Swamps don’t sound that good but Bass Harbor Marsh in the neighborhood of Bass Harbor Campground is relatively good, and needless to say Marshall Brook flows
through this region. Bass Harbor Campground is a quite wet place generally with a large amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's just no way someone
can get bored here at Bass Harbor Campground. If time allows, Acadia National Park is a national park worth taking a look at; places like Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park are pleasant to stop at. This ski mountain is always exciting. From Bass Harbor Campground you acquire
a great vista of Big Rocks, and Lamoine State Park is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. You'll meet a lot of people from Bernard here, and if you're here why not stop by Weaver Ledge. Seawall Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and don't forget to stop by Bass
Harbor while you're here. Don't leave Bass Harbor Campground without first going for a hike along the Cold Brook Trail, and Union River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by.
