is no trail there.  the Bass Harbor Lighthouse is about a 20 minute walk away. Says ThirdStone

This ski mountain is so great. Swamps don’t sound that good but Bass Harbor Marsh in the neighborhood of Bass Harbor Campground is relatively good, and needless to say Marshall Brook flows through this region. Bass Harbor Campground is a quite wet place generally with a large amount of rain; the wettest month of the year is usually November, that's the one that rains the most while August is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Bass Harbor Campground. If time allows, Acadia National Park is a national park worth taking a look at; places like Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park are pleasant to stop at.
This ski mountain is always exciting. From Bass Harbor Campground you acquire a great vista of Big Rocks, and Lamoine State Park is a great place to stretch your legs a bit. You'll meet a lot of people from Bernard here, and if you're here why not stop by Weaver Ledge. Seawall Pond is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and don't forget to stop by Bass Harbor while you're here.
Don't leave Bass Harbor Campground without first going for a hike along the Cold Brook Trail, and Union River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot close by.
