Aroostook River Camping and Recreation, Maine
|
| | This place is awesome. It's well groomed and picturesque with miles of hiking trails. If you like to hunt or fish this is just the place to be.
Maybe you're the more adventurous type. The campground trails give you access to the Nordic Heritage Center mountain biking trails. How about a relaxing float down the Aroostook River back down to the campground? If you don't have your own kayak or canoe you can rent one here. They even have a shuttle service.

The Aroostook County ATV Trail is directly across the street offering over 1200 miles of contiguous trails. We used our friends ATV and did lots of exploring. During the Hot Air Balloon Festival we were able to sit at our campsite

I've saved the best for last. The local Powered Para Gliders often fly over this area. My husband and son even took a ride on one. They described the experience as outrageous. My husband calls this place PARADISE... We both love it here and will be returning next year. Clare and Ken take tremendous pride in their campground. It may just be northern

Maine's best kept secret. Tell the world! Wait, don't do that. Forget I ever mentioned it. It is selfishly our hidden treasure. The rolling farmlands, spectacular sunsets and the ever changing landscapes make each day a joy to behold.

Our dog, Tucker, has given it his paw of approval. He would have given it two thumbs up but he doesn't have thumbs. Try it, we think you will love it. Says Kathy
The caring reception and the admirably taken care of facilities are a perfect pull for loads of folks. Scores of people stay at this campground to take a look at nearby Aroostook State Park.
