Don't leave Apache Campground without popping by Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park, and Trafton Brook Dam is an interesting thing to check out. Hay Brook is a great site to pop by; a spree here wouldn’t be complete without a spree to nearby Odiorne State Park.

At Apache Campground you always meet someone from Alfred, and unsurprisingly, this is a fine region for people who like lakes, Trout Pond is a lake close at hand. Many people camp here for the purpose of being near Vaughan Woods Memorial State Park.
There's more to do near Apache Campground other than just hanging out such as swimming, whitewater paddling, fishing, and playing golf, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. Apache Campground is a reasonably wet place mostly with a large amount of precipitation; November is the month that gets the most rain, and September on the other hand is the driest. The caring people working here and a great variety of cool things attract folks from far and near.
Apache Campground is a popular spot with people in Alfred.
