Des Moines KOA, Iowa Custom Search   I have visited this campground on numerous trips through Iowa. I have found the staff very helpful and friendly. The annual rain here at Des Moines Koa is about average; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. Des Moines Koa     is liked by the people of Minburn. There's so much stuff to do close to Des Moines Koa, and it indisputably is a splendid campground. Pammel State Park is a nice spot to stop at, and what would winter be without some skiing at Seven Oaks. There's more to do right next door to Des Moines Koa other than just hanging out such as fishing, whitewater paddling, playing golf, and swimming, so you won’t run out of things to do. For the period of the summer highs here at Des Moines Koa reach the 80's with nighttime lows in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Des Moines Koa. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Des Moines Koa. Places like Ledges State Park are pleasant to pop by, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone   but if it's for you then, we recommend Raccoon River. For you golfers we recommend nearby River Valley Golf Course, and an afternoon playing golf at Hillcrest Country Club is always a bliss. This is such a great campground. Nearby lakes? Sure, Pilot Lake is near Des Moines Koa, and you'll possibly meet some folks from Minburn here. All the glorious local attractions in the neighborhood and so many things to do are wonderful reasons to come. Iowa is a splendid location for campers. Everybody needs to go camping for a couple of days every now and then, and Des Moines Koa in Iowa is the outdoors at its best.
