| | If you're popping by Thousand Trails from Sheridan, you won't be the only one, and you can go for a hike on the Touch the Earth Trail.
Lake Herman Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out; while you're here, you could go to Mission Creek. Several people stay at Thousand Trails when they come to pop by Illini State Park. From a rainfall point of view Thousand Trails is a reasonably typical spot; most of the rain falls all through June, and the driest month is February.

Thousand Trails is a very popular campground among the residents of Sheridan. There are some great whitewater spots on Bailey Creek. Throughout the months of summer highs here at Thousand Trails get into the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Thousand Trails are in the 0's.

If only every spot had this much outdoors entertaining things, what a great earth it would be. Buffalo Rock Park & Effigy Tumuli State Park is both brilliant and picturesque, and it's near Thousand Trails, and going for a hike on the Beaver Dam Hiking
and Cross-Country Ski Trail is always a nice adventure. The tremendous people who operate this spot and the fine quality of everything here are rather unbelievable.
There's a load of outdoors recreation available in close proximity such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.
