| | This is a magnificent campground. Lake Herman Dam is pretty and it's in the vicinity of Thousand Trails, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Beaver Dam Hiking and Cross-Country Ski Trail.
Famous Illinois kindness and all the amusing stuff are rather tremendous. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Covel Creek; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop by nearby Lake Herman.
