Squirrel's Nest, Illinois

| | Just took a drive thru the Squirrels Nest Campground. The place is beautiful and very well kept up. I talked with the manager who was very nice and had my name put on the waiting list, so hopefully I will get a site there in the near future. Says Mary
The squirrel's nest has improved so much since a new manager has taken over, this is now one of the nicest campgrounds in southern illinois but its very hard to get a site here cause its full and no one wants to leave Says Bob

Nest you always meet someone from Sesser. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can stop at City of Sesser Reservoir Dam, and Moores Hill can be seen from Squirrel's Nest.
For the period of the warmest time of the year at Squirrel's Nest temperatures are regularly in
| the 80's; during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Squirrel's Nest. All the lively folks and all the delightful passtime activities have people coming here. With such a vast number of things to do in Illinois you'll never get bored.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Little Grassy Creek, unsurprisingly you could also have a look at Mine Number 21 Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at | |

Ok, you've been cooped up too long, you've gotta get out, and Squirrel's Nest in Illinois is such a pleasant spot.
The high level of rain makes Squirrel's Nest a reasonably wet site; of
all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month is January.
Squirrel's Nest doesn’t have that much cool stuff nearby but campgrounds like these are pleasant.
