Glenwood Farms RV Camping, Illinois   To Whom it may concern, I remember my experiences at Glenwood Farms from when I was a child. My last recollection of my first visits there would have been in approximately 1965 or so. I was about four or five then. There are five children in our family and we camped there frequently. Our mother took us there often for two reasons. One to take a break from our every day lives and mostly to get away from my alchoholic father. We went there at all hours of the day and night. In summertime when the sun was shining we swam almost the whole day and when it rained     and the only camping spot left in the middle of the night was going downhill,the rain poured through our tent. Even though we went through some definite times of despair, our mother took us to a place where we could feel safe and try and have some joy in life. I remember sitting around the campfire where there were sing-a-longs after the sun went down. Swimming all day, hiking all day in the trails surrounding the campgrounds with new found friends was always a ton of fun. I have lived in Arizona and California since 1983 and I still have a strong desire to bring my children to a place I called home many a terrifying night. I found comfort in the down to earth spirit of Glenwood Farms. I only hope it is as simple and beautiful as I remember it. The caring operators of the campground and a delightful variety of exciting stuff are in themselves cause enough to come here. The brilliant local attractions and such a brilliant variety of outdoors recreation will absolutely have you coming back repeatedly. At this campground you will always have a splendid time. If you don't mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Covel Creek, and don't forget to take a perfect little trip to Gum Creek. If the weather is great here at Glenwood Farms RV Camping, you can go for a hike along the Fox Ridge Nature Trail; whitewater paddling is magnificent on Bailey Creek. There's heaps of outdoors recreation available close by such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so there's no way to get bored. Glenwood Farms RV Camping gets a normal amount of yearly rain; through the month of June you get the most rain around here, and February is when it's the driest. Loads of folks stay at this campground to be near Illini State Park. A journey to Illini State Park when you're here at Glenwood Farms RV Camping is never a bad idea, and Vermilion River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by. There's so much to do in close proximity to Glenwood Farms RV Camping, and camping is such a fun thing to do, and this is a magnificent spot to do that. Glenwood Farms RV Camping is a very well prized campground by the residents of Marseilles. But wait, there's more to do near Glenwood Farms RV Camping. Do stop by Marseilles Dam since you're here at Glenwood Farms RV Camping, and do schedule some time to have a look at Mallard Bay if you have a chance.
