Says john danner Some activities here at Double M Campground are swimming, whitewater paddling, fishing, and hiking, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. There's absolutely no way to get bored in Illinois if you go for the outdoors. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 90's to Double M Campground. Summer overnight lows sink down to the 60's. The winter brings highs down     to the 40's; night lows at Double M Campground through the wintertime generally dip into the 20's. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike on the River to River Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and this is a popular site for folks from Junction. Ok, time to go camping, so what do you say? Double M Campground, Illinois is a splendid spot for getting out. Double M Campground is a reasonably wet place usually with a lot of rain; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while January is generally the driest month. At Double M Campground enjoyable stuff to do is abundant; you always have a splendid time when you're here. The friendly atmosphere and all the exciting things are in themselves incentive enough to come here. This campground is always a delight. Shawnee National   Forest is a great place to take a look at, and you can run the rapids of Bear Branch. A good site to pop by in the neighborhood of Double M Campground is Kuykendall Valley; a lake close by is Eagle Number 1 Fresh Water Lake. There is a good hiking trail in the vicinity of Double M Campground called the Shore to Shore Horse Trail, and Harmonie State Park is a brilliant site. The good pick of local attractions, and the close by outdoors recreation are delightful incentives to come. Near Double M Campground you discover the Beaver Trail which is a pleasant hiking trail; get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Lusk Creek. On a great day at Double M Campground you can take a hike along the Beaver Trail. Double M Campground is liked by people in Junction.
