Winchester Lake State Park, Idaho   We stayed in one of the Yurts from October 14-16, 2006. The campground is wonderful. The $4 bundle of firewood is bigger than any other place we've stayed. The hike around the lake took about 2 hours and was worth the effort. It's on our list of places to visit again. Says Tom and Lisa Outdoors folks generally have a thing about this part of Idaho. The workforce that operates this campground and the very capably managed facilities attract people from near and far. There's more to do near Winchester Lake State Park other than just hanging     out such as fishing, swimming, and whitewater paddling, so there's absolutely no way to get bored. Winchester Lake State Park is a good spot of common precipitation; most of the rain falls during November, and the driest month of the year is July. You can't spend too much time indoors; you've gotta get out from time to time, and Winchester Lake State Park in Idaho is a really perfect site to spend some time. Just can't get enough of Winchester Lake State Park. Loads of people stay here for the purpose of being close to Winchester Lake State Park. Dworshak State Park is a good place to stretch your legs a bit; Clearwater River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot nearby. There is so much cool stuff in the vicinity of Winchester Lake State Park, and campgrounds like these are perfect. Such a great pick of attractions   and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will beyond doubt have you coming back again and again. Summer at Winchester Lake State Park arrives with high temperatures in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Winchester Lake State Park through the winter usually fall into the 20's. When you're here at Winchester Lake State Park it's always fun to go to Winchester Lake State Park; during your journey here you'll meet some folks from Winchester for sure. Loads of fun is at this campground. Do take a look at Lapwai Lake near Winchester Lake State Park, it's a scenic lake, and paddling on Salmon River is so much fun. Winchester Lake State Park is a top choice campground with people from Winchester. If you're interested in hydro structures, you can visit Winchester Dam, and get wet paddling on Potlatch River.
