Everybody loves Elk Basin, and the view of delightful Pike Mountain is great. This is truly a nice campground. A delightful lake like Murtaugh Lake near Lower Penstemon is a splendid spot to pop by, and golf can be played at Pleasant Valley Golf Course. Lower Penstemon is regularly a relatively dry place. of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. Through the summer at Lower Penstemon highs are generally in the 80's.
