| | This campground has so much cool stuff to offer. Blackfoot River has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby, and there are swamps here too, Hodges Slough is around here. The kind reception and a delightful variety of enjoyable things are a great pull for lots of people. At Calamity during the summer highs are in the 80's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs during the winter are frequently in the 20's while the cold winter nights at Calamity are in the 0's. from Iona. Ok, you've been cooped up too long; Calamity in Idaho is such a great location. While popping by this region in Idaho it's a great idea to go camping for a couple of days too. Kelly Canyon has great slopes and a friendly staff, and there's perfect hiking along the
| Portneuf Presto Trail. Among the things you can do right next door to Calamity are whitewater paddling, and hiking, so running out of entertaining stuff to do won’t happen. Paddling on Blackfoot River is so much fun; the great folks of Idaho Falls like to hang out close by. Calamity gets very little rainfall; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain while July is mostly the driest month. So many enjoyable things near Calamity; spending time at this campground is exceptionally fun. Such a great choice of attractions and the close by outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. | |
