Pack River is a fine whitewater spot near Alpine Park, and going for a hike on the Leiberg-Athol Trail is always a fine adventure. For the period of the warmest time of the year highs here at Alpine Park
reach the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are mostly in the 20's while Alpine Park night low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 10's.
This is in fact a fine campground. The slopes
of Schweitzer are so inviting noone can resist; hiking is a popular thing to do around Alpine Park; Upper Declaration Trail is a good local trail.
If you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Priest River. If you're a golfer then a pleasant close by course is Elks Golf Club of Sandpoint, and since you're here you must visit Murphy Bay.
