Etowah River Campground, Blue Ridge Mountains, Georgia
|
| | I love camping at Etowah River Campground. It is secluded and away from the traffic of the big lakes and Corps of Engineers campgrounds. The owners are VERY friendly and will do anything to make your stay pleasurable. You can hike and ride your ATV nearby, float the Etowah River or just relax. There is no reason to run to town after your arrival. The campsites are also very spacious and roomy, the bath house is clean and well maintained and the grounds are well groomed. I can't wait to go back. It may just be the only place I camp from now on. |

...Talk about a WONDERFUL CAMPGROUNDS sight!!!...We traveled from Minnesota to go camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend (2009) and the Etowah River Campgrounds are EXCELLENT!!!..Large camp sights with electricity and water, clean restroom and
| showering facilities, access to ice and campfire wood, friendly people, and owners, Darrell & Jaki, greeting you upon arrival, making you feel at home (away from home) while you camp...The sight is beautiful, next to the river, and we would recommend it to everyone... Says Fergie
I stayed there twice in May and it is one of the nicest campgrounds I have ever stayed at. The location next to the river is great, what a beautiful river, the facilities were clean and modern and the locals could not have been nicer. Well off the beaten path, but close enough | |

to town, I woul dreccommend this site to anyone. I can't wait to go back! Says Greg Miles
The Coosa Backcountry Trail offers hiking at its best, and you're sure to bump into some great folks from Dahlonega here. All the water falling down from the sky makes Etowah River
Campground a wet site; the wettest month of the year is mostly March, that's the one that rains the most; the driest month is October. You believe that's sufficient? Just getting warmed up. Go for a hike on the Benton Mackaye Trail, and while you're here, you could explore Mud
Creek. All year is a tremendous time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you go for the outdoors. Good hiking is available along the DeSoto Falls Trail; Vogel State Park is worth a visit. All through the days of summer, highs ordinarily are in the 80's at Etowah River Campground.
Summer overnight lows dip down to the 60's. During the winter the highs are frequently in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Etowah River Campground temperatures dip to the 20's. This campground is so brilliant. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Etowah
River Campground; Duncan Ridge Trail is a great local trail. Soar down the rapids of Etowah River in a kayak; golf can be played at Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River. This is a brilliant campground. There are delightful spots to discover along the Black Mountain Trail, and
why not explore Majors Lake Dam if you're here. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too brilliant to be true. Do take a look at Majors Lake right next door to Etowah River Campground, it's a charming lake; Amicalola Falls and Lodge State Park is a fine location to go.
