Etowah River Campground, Blue Ridge Mountains, Georgia Custom Search   I love camping at Etowah River Campground.  It is secluded and away from the traffic of the big lakes and Corps of Engineers campgrounds.  The owners are VERY friendly and will do anything to make your stay pleasurable.  You can hike and ride your ATV nearby, float the Etowah River or just relax.  There is no reason to run to town after your arrival.  The campsites are also very spacious and roomy, the bath house is clean and well maintained and the grounds are well groomed.  I can't wait to go back.  It may just be the only place I camp from now on.     Says Merlin Lucas ...Talk about a WONDERFUL CAMPGROUNDS sight!!!...We traveled from Minnesota to go camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend (2009) and the Etowah River Campgrounds are EXCELLENT!!!..Large camp sights with electricity and water, clean restroom and showering facilities, access to ice and campfire wood, friendly people, and owners, Darrell & Jaki, greeting you upon arrival, making you feel at home (away from home) while you camp...The sight is beautiful, next to the river, and we would recommend it to everyone... The location next to the river is great, what a beautiful river, the facilities were clean and modern and the locals could not have been nicer. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is abundant here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There is a great hiking trail near Etowah River Campground called the Duncan Ridge Trail; golf can be played at Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River. This campground is a great place to have a look at. On a tremendous day at Etowah River Campground you can take a hike along the DeSoto Falls Trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in the neighborhood of Etowah River Campground. Places like Vogel State Park are splendid to stop by, and Etowah River has a splendid whitewater paddling spot close by. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Majors Lake Dam is a charming place close to Etowah River Campground, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the Benton Mackaye Trail. Etowah River Campground is a wet spot that gets a large amount of precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is October. Loads of fun is at this campground. You could also stop by Majors Lake while you're here at Etowah River Campground; it's close by, and going for a hike along the Black Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. For the period of the long summer days at Etowah River Campground highs are usually in the 80's while overnight lows are ordinarily in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Etowah River Campground dipping down into the 20's all through winter nights. Mud Creek flows through this region, and going for a hike on the Coosa Backcountry Trail is always a great adventure.
