The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Blackburn Park and Campground dipping down into the 20's throughout winter nights. Good hiking is available along the Coosa Backcountry Trail; you'll find a pretty lake called Woody Lake. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Blue Ridge Mountains. An afternoon playing golf at Nicklaus Golf Club at Birch River is always a joy, and don't leave Blackburn Park and Campground without first going for a hike along the Duncan Ridge Trail. Yep, outdoors exciting things truly is bountiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Chattahoochee National Forest is a good place to take a look at on a pretty day, and in case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Etowah River.
Famous Georgia welcome and the magnificent quality of everything here beat anything. This campground is always a bliss. A visit to Vogel State Park when you're here at Blackburn Park and Campground is never a bad idea; there's nice hiking along the Whitly Gap Trail. Blackburn Park and Campground is frequently visited by the residents of Dahlonega.
